What is the Taboo Tab?
The Taboo Tab first debuted on the blog Shaunanagins in February 2013. After experiencing a great deal of popularity, it was deemed worthy of its own dot com. And here we are!
The Taboo Tab is designed to showcase individual stories and experiences related to subjects deemed “taboo” in polite conversation. With the help of storytellers, we believe that we can help people relate to each other better, build awareness, create space for compassion…or maybe just remind each other that we aren’t alone.
About the Editors
Shauna Vert (content editor and creator) is a student and blogger based in Ottawa, Ontario. She loves honest stories, good writing, and bad puns. She’s kind of obsessed with this whole “awareness and listening and compassion” thing. And she probably wants to be your friend really really badly. Like, it’s almost embarrassing. You can follow her on Twitter at @Shaunanagins and read her personal blog at shaunanagins.com.
Sam Polzin (visual editor and photographer) is a photographer, traveler, and professional optimist based in Kitchener, Ontario. She is currently busy working on her first book, Soul by Sole, and answering Shauna’s frantic emails.
We are always hunting for cool stories and feedback. If you want to contribute to the Taboo Tab, have an idea for the blog, or just want to share a good knock-knock joke (do those exist?), drop us a line here:
